Who discovered it?
Catherine Van Raamsdon, an assistant professor of medical genetics, discovered that a genetics mutation in a gene is responsible for causing cases of intraocular melanoma.

Signs and Symptoms
-a dark spot on the iris.
-a sensation of flashing lights.
-a change in shape of your pupil.
-bad or blurry vision.
-loss of peripheral vision.

Diagnosis
Your doctor will use an ophthalmoscope (a small microscope) to look inside your eye. The doctors may take ultrasound pictures too. It's easy for the doctor to tell if you have the cancer.
