Cooper Landing School Updates
Battle of the Books
The students have been working extremely hard on Battle of the Books. Ms. Krissy is the best coach and knows how to motivate the teams. The Battles are set to take place as follows:
Monday, February 5 - Grades 3-4
Tuesday, February 6 - Grades 5-6
Wednesday, February 7 - Grades 7-8 (for Cooper Landing, just grade 8)
So this week and next week is crunch time! We are really proud of how the kids have stepped up and we have all the confidence in the world that they will do very well when it's time to Battle!

Scholastic Book Orders
We've only had 2 families turn in their certificates for FREE books from Scholastic. Please go to Scholastic.com with your child and pick out your $20 worth of books. Then just email or text Donna, or send in a note with your child's choices.
We are in need of a PAC president, secretary, and treasurer. It sometimes becomes difficult to conduct the business of the PAC without officers. Please consider volunteering.
Cooper Landing School is in need of substitutes for all positions: teacher, instructional aide, special education aide, secretary, and custodian. If you are interested, please go to the KPBSD website to apply: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/substitute-information/
Teacher substitutes need only to have a high school diploma or GED. A teaching certificate is not required.
If anyone has any extra children's winter gloves, the school could use a few spares.
Please make sure your child has a warm jacket, hat, gloves, snow pants and boots. If it is convenient for you, and your child has extras, these things can be kept at the school. Please make sure to label each item with your child's name.
Community School Activities
Volleyball - Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Walking/Work-out - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays from 7-8 am
Tot Time - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:45 am - 12:45 pm
District Office has informed us that since there is no student contact for Community School activities, background checks are no longer needed unless you are issued a key to the school.
Parents who wish to accompany their child on field trips (whether or not you are driving a student other than your own), must complete a background check. To complete the process, please click here: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/

We want to thank our parents for being so well prepared this winter season and sending their children to school fully prepared with winter gear. We can get outside for the fun right away.
