Great Things!
If you haven't checked out the art in the office, be sure to swing through! Ms. Shandi's class created some pretty cool color monsters!
We had a Red Snow Day to celebrate the Chiefs' big win. Hope you enjoyed your day!
Tornado drills went well! Great job getting students prepared for the drill, and going through the routine!
Challenge: Power of Free Will
"The only person I can make change is myself." No-one is in charge of my feelings, except me. You are in charge of how you feel, how you react, and the choices/actions you take in situations. This week, focus on the power of free will; you are in charge of you and your feelings.
Are you willing to commit to taking responsibility for your choices?

Nuts-n-Bolts:
*Announcements are uploaded and ready to go-Sarah J's p.m. kids this week
*Since faculty meeting was cancelled due to no school, we will spend the first 30 minutes of our Friday the 14th PD going over some housekeeping items (PDC, Messy Night, Book Fair)
*Dress code reminder: No tank tops, no rips/tears/frayed out jeans, no leggings worn as pants (this means if you wear leggings-your top must be fingertip length/within 2 inches of the knee).
*NEW BUS ARRIVAL PROCEDURE: Last week, at the 9:00 arrival, we had a scary situation where students were passing a bus to come into the building, and the bus began pulling off. Students were extremely close to the bus's wheels when this happened. Therefore, we are putting some additional safety precautions in place.
~First: at HS arrivals (8:00/12:30) two people will need to be assisting with busses-one in the entryway and one at the bus (this means only one person will be back at car riders) The fourth staff member will stand in the hall between the foyer door and the cafeteria doors.
~Second: All Arrivals (8:00/9:00/12:30/1:00) the orange flag will be used to let busses know when they are clear to pull away after unloading their students. (No busses should move until cleared by our HG staff-and until there are absolutely no students walking past the busses.) Please be sure that someone takes the orange flag out to arrival times moving forward.
*Websites are due to be updated by end of the day February 14. Please email me to let me know you have done this.
*February book shelving duty: Lyndsey
Speech and Language Tip of the Week:
Play an inferencing game. Get a small box and place an object in the box. Give simple clues and see if the kids can guess what is in the box. Work on asking questions effectively by having the kids use complete sentences when asking, “Is it a car?” Use silly, fun items and the kids will play this game for a long time!
Fine Motor Tip of the Week:
If the overhead lighting seems to bother any of your students, consider covering the lights with a blue plastic tablecloth, cut to size.
