Mapping the Human Brain
by Bailey Parks
Description of Brain Mapping
Human brain mapping is becoming very helpful to scientists studying functions of the brain. This can help us see deeper into cell functions, along with anatomy. This process uses imaging to study parts of the spinal cord and the function of the brain.
Importance to Humans and Society
Brain Mapping is critical to humans and society because from these studies, we can learn more about our lives and how brain functions help us to live.
Affecting Me and My Peers
Brain Mapping does not directly affect me, but if I know someone with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Disease, we can learn a little bit more about their illnesses with the help and knowledge of Brain Mapping.
Brain Mapping History
Brain Mapping was first brought about around 1962, and an experiment was conducted in a hospital in Ohio. With the help of Brain Mapping, we can now cure Epilepsy, Hallucinations, and Schizophrenia.
Ethical Concerns and Brain Mapping
Building models of the brain could challenge free will or even personal responsibility. Brain simulation could help us communicate with those who can't, including people with disabilities.
Brain Mapping in Relation to Other Science Fields
Even though it has to do with Biology, Brain Mapping is a subset of Neuroscience. Brain Mapping can also be related to the health field. Working in laboratories, and even being a nurse are a few fields dealing with Brain Mapping.
The Future of Mapping the Brain
Scientists plan to keep studying and experimenting Mapping the Brain. It will take a good period of time to establish facts, experiments, and observations, most of which we may not see in our lifetime. No one may ever know everything about the human brain, but with Brain Mapping, we can start to pave the way.
