Coming Fall 2022
SCS will be building a STEAM and Fine Arts Center
Salem Community Schools will be the only corporation in the Mid West with a saferoom at each building.
When completed all students in the corporation will have a location to gather in the event of a natural disaster. In these events these rooms have been designed to keep our students safe. During the school day these rooms will be used to help develop our students' love for learning. The safe room at the high School will focus on the performing arts and the safe room at the middle school will focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
Thank you to Kovert Hawkins Architects and River Hills for the help in the planning and implementation of these projects.
Salem High School Performing Arts Center
The safe room at the high school will function as a Performing Arts Center during the school day. We are excited about this opportunity to give our students a facility to learn. The Performing Arts Center will include a room for band and choir.
