Montgomery Virtual Academy K-5 News
Week of January 17, 2022
A Note from the Dean's Desk
Greetings Montgomery Virtual Academy Voyagers!
In this week's newsletter, please find a number of reminders and announcements regarding 2022-2023 reenrollment (due 1-17-22), Semester 2 supplies, and MVAPTC announcements. Thank you for your attention and cooperation!
Also, this week on Monday, January 17, we pause to commemorate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Like many others, I draw great inspiration from his courage to live out his values, his dedication to Civil Rights and social justice, his belief in serving others, and his ability to lead and mobilize other people toward the same causes. Truly, there are many lessons to be learned, even today, from MLK Jr. I would like to encourage our entire Montgomery Virtual Academy community to use this as an opportunity to intentionally engage our young people in learning opportunities about his life and legacy and develop a deeper understanding of how we can carry his vision into the world today. Some links to resources are provided below.
And since Dr. King is known to have asked, "“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” I also invite our community to consider participating in the MLK Week of Service. See the following link for some possible ideas for Montgomery County residents. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/volunteercenter/volunteers/MLK.html
