International Education Week (IEW), November 18-22, 2019, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

The 2019 Global Education Conference
The Global Education Conference (http://globaleducationconference.com) is a collaborative, inclusive, world-wide event involving students, educators, and organizations at all levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for connecting classrooms while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity and educational access for all. There is NO cost to attend.

How To Join a GEC General Session
About the Global Education Conference
Over 140 sessions will take place around the clock to accommodate time zones between noon on November 18th and 4 PM on November 20th. The set below consists of sessions that may be of particular interest to North Shore community members. Click on the links provided to find out more about each session. Note that keynote presentations are held in the Zoom conferencing platform and general sessions take place in Blackboard Collaborate.
To participate, it is recommended that you view the short video above. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Register and a link to the Sessions and Schedule page will be sent to you.
- On the Sessions and Schedule page, you'll find a calendar with session listings and links to either Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate. The directions for BBC are a bit more complicated, but once you've installed the BBC launcher, it should be routine to enter session rooms.
- If you want to connect with other educators or look at conference recordings, join our community at globaleducationconference.org.
