This Week at OLPH School
May 9 to May 13
Prayer of the week
We ask your blessing on all those who have lost their homes, their
livelihoods, their security and their hope in the Fort McMurray fire.
Bless the work of relief agencies and those providing emergency assistance.
May their work be guided by the grace and strength that comes from You alone.
Help us to respond with generosity in prayer, in assistance, in aid to the
best of our abilities. Keep our hearts focused on the needs of those
affected, even after the crisis is over. We ask this in Jesus' name,
News of the week
Today we have welcomed a new grade 5 student in our school. We wish a warm and heartfelt welcome to Akwaugo who is joining us from Fort McMurray. Our Synremail system was temperamental yesterday and would not let me log in, so please forgive this late email.
Library Revitalization Project
We are very excited to be working with our Parent Association on a Library Revitalization Project to improve our school library. Our Parent Association is asking students to sell raffle tickets to help raise funds and a raffle book request sheet was sent home last week with each student. Our parent group has also made arrangements to sell tickets at a few locations on weekends in Sherwood Park and are looking for students and parent volunteers to help. Here is the link to the sign up
Our Parent Association will be hosting a Pizza Party for the class that sells the most tickets and the single highest raffle seller wins a prize as well.
