To maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus by absorbing the calcium. It also improves bone health.
Consequences of Vitamin D Deficiency
1. You will have weak bones and skeletal deformities
2. It can cause bone pain
3. It can cause severe asthma in children
4. It can give you cancer
5. Increase risk of cardiovascular diseases
Where can vitamin D be found
1. Vitamin D is produced naturally when ultraviolet light from the sun hits human skin causing vitamin D synthesis.
2. Fatty fishes such as tuna, trout and salmon
3. Milk
4. Some orange juices
5. Vitamin D supplements
6. Egg yolk
7. Liver (liver oil and beef liver)
