FWISD Shout Outs

South Hills HS: Hallie Harp

Congratulations to freshmen Hallie Harp who was honored today in a Zoom interview with Dave Campbell Texas Football/Chicken Express for their Community Heroes of the Month Scholarship.

Hallie was recognized with a $250 scholarship and will also be entered in their end-of-the-year $1500 scholarship contest. She received this award for all that she does in our sports program (volleyball, soccer, powerlifting and track) as well as her involvement at our school-Freshmen Class President, UIL Academics, All-A Honor Roll, Avid, etc. Her volunteerism: soup kitchens and church nursery and her entrepreneurism: her own baking business.

This state-wide award is traditionally given to juniors and seniors, but in the words of her interviewer, "she was just too good to pass up!" Even though Hallie is new to our school, she has had a huge impact on our women's sports programs. She embodies what we want our athletes to look like, act like and truly be. Congratulations also to her parents, Mika and Monica Harp and her Freshmen teachers for their support and encouragement!

Her interview will go out on Social Media in the coming days.

Brayan Andrade (second from the left) was an excellent student at EHHS, consistently in the top 10 in his class, and starting wing for our boys' soccer team his sophomore and junior years. His younger sister, Alva Andrade, graduated in the top ten percent of her class, was a three-year starter for Hill's girls' soccer team, and is currently completing her nursing degree at Texas A&M University.
