Innovative Action Research Project
SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS DUE ON FEB. 14th!
Sixth, 7th, and 8th grade teachers have started collaborations with their students on the Innovative Active Research Projects a.k.a Science Fair Projects. ELA teachers are assisting students with researching valid sources and putting sources in correct MLA formatting for the Works Cited Pages. Science teachers are assisting students with writing valid hypotheses, identifying variables (IV, DV, and CV), researching materials, writing procedures, and collecting data. Math teachers will assist students, after winter break, with creating data tables/graphs based on data collected. Social Studies teachers will assist with helping students write valid conclusions and creating new questions for further study. Exploratory teachers are assisting by embedding the scientific design and engineering processes in their content lessons, when applicable. All 6th grade students will be completing projects in small groups during class sessions. Seventh and eighth grade students will be completing individual projects or group projects outside of school. This school-wide collaborative process began in October and will conclude in March with the CSRA Regional Science Fair at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. Please see below for all of the innovative action research materials.
