• Anime Club is meeting today after school until about 4:30 in the Lecture Hall.

• Congratulations to our very own Rolla Robotics FTC teams on an excellent day of robot competition at their League Qualifier held in Springfield, MO, January 28. Judged Awards are:

• Think Award Winner (best portfolio) : 5893 Direct Current
• Motivate Award Winner (community outreach): 6168 Maniacal Mechanics
• Design Award 2nd Place (portion of robot design stood out to the judges): 4964 Rolla Patriots
  
• Deans List Semi-Finalists (nominated by their teams as recognized leaders): John Tumbrink, Jed Brophy, Anu Pandey, Cip Archulaeta, and Wil Baur
• Inspire Award 2nd Place (best overall in all judged categories): 6168 Maniacal Mechanics! This award given to 6168 qualifies them to advance to the MO FTC State Championship that will be held at MO S & T on March 4.

• NHS would like your help in showing our teachers and staff appreciation for what they do for our school everyday. Please take a moment to write a short note to a teacher to show the positive impact they have had on your high school career. All responses will be shared with the teachers in mid-March.

• FCCLA is accepting donations for Russell House (the home for abused women). Bring your items to your advisory. The advisory that donates the most items wins a party.

• Juniors - if you have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, you should receive an email on Thursday, January 26th inviting you to apply for membership in the National Honor Society. In the email, you will receive directions on how to complete and submit the application digitally. Candidates who wish to be considered for membership must submit a completed application by Thursday, February 23rd. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Hanlin or Ms. Mullen. Again - you must be a junior with a 3.5 cumulative GPA to be eligible.

The sixth man student section has started a foundation to support the Special Olympics by selling t-shirts. They will be available to order in the cafeteria or online until January 26th. Get yours today... they will be the theme for boy's basketball senior night on February 3rd.

• HS Wrestling Tri v. Hillcrest/Sullivan has been rescheduled to Thursday, February 2nd.

• I will have a boys' golf meeting Tuesday, February 7th for anyone interested in playing golf this year at the Junior High in room 146 @ 3:30. -Coach Nixon
  

• Girl's soccer tryouts will start on February 27th after school at the turf field. Prior to trying out you need to have a current physical on file and have up-to-date health insurance. Open gyms are currently going on at the middle school on Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 pm and Fridays 4:00-5:30 pm. All are welcome.
