BIST Parent Sessions - Need to register Today!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of ongoing support for families, your child’s school is offering a series of classes for parents and guardians through a partnership with the Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST). These training sessions are designed to provide ways you can support your child’s developing academic and behavior skills, as well as increase consistency between home and school.
BIST Virtual Parenting Series
5:45 - 6:00 PM Enter Zoom Room
6:00 - 6:45 PM Informational Session
6:45 - 7:00 PM Questions and Answers
January 17th: Same-Page Parenting- How parents/caregivers can enhance consistency with one another and partner with schools for the success of children.
January 31st: Just an Ounce of Prevention- The importance of Early Intervention, Pre-Coaching, and the power of reflection for a new direction.
February 7th: The Kindness of Accountability- Working for life impact and growing kids who care.
These classes are designed to:
· Create consistency between school and home
· Provide language for adults to use when redirecting children
· Share ways to problem solve to increase your child’s success
· Increase generosity and kindness in your children
· Bring a sense of calm to your home

Register for the Free Training
These virtual classes are provided free of charge, however, we do ask that you please register through our website on or before Friday, January 13th so that the Zoom link can be emailed to you on Monday before class. Instructions for registration are below.
To register for this class:
- Go to http://BIST.org
- Use the dropdown menu “My Account.” Click Log In/Log Out
- If you already created a username by previously enrolling in a BIST class, just log in.
- Or create a username by clicking “Click Here” under the large LOG IN heading.
- Enter your information (Name, Email, and a Password). This will register you on the website, but not for the class.
- Select the class you wish to attend. Click “Register” to the right of the class name.
- Follow the instructions.
- Be sure to select “Free Class” under the Payment Method since this class is free to any families of member schools.
- Select your child’s District and School from the dropdown menus (if you have more than one child in the school/district, just choose one).
- Select your position as a Parent unless you are a school staff member. If you are both a parent and a school staff member, you may select either.
- Currently, the website does not send out confirmations of registration. You will receive the Zoom link by noon on the Monday before each class day. If you do not, please contact our office at BIST@cornerstonesofcare.org for assistance.

Valentine's Day Order Form
The students in the LIFT program will be making and selling Valentine’s! You may purchase a classroom set (which includes identical gift bag for each child in your students class) for $15.00. We will prepare the Valentine’s that will include a gift tag and gift bag including a Valentine’s pencil, sticker, and/or toy and a nut-safer candy such as Starbursts, fruit snacks, sweet tarts, etc. This has been a huge hit in the past and we look forward to your help in making this another success! The funds made go towards necessary items to help our students succeed.

Incoming Kindergarten Information
We are so excited to start the process to welcome our Kindergarten families for the Fall of 2023. Children who reside in Blue Valley Schools and turn 5 years of age by August 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten that school year. If you live in the Indian Valley Elementary boundaries and will have an incoming Kindergarten student next fall, please click on this link to pre-register: https://forms.gle/Kx17imGx16Cdos3RA.
More information will be shared with you at the end of February including welcome videos, online registration instructions, and information about Kindergarten Round Up in April.

IVE Spirit Night
Thank you for the great turnout for IVE's Restaurant Night at Minsky's Pizza. Thanks to your generous support the PTA will be receiving a check for $440!! These funds are used to support our students and staff throughout the school year.
Please make plans to join us for the next Spirit Night at Urban Air OP (14401 Metcalf) on Thursday, January 28th from 4:00-8:00. 20% of proceeds will be donated back to IVE. Make sure you mention IVE when you purchase tickets.

Notes for Breakfast Morning:
7:30am we will open up the cafeteria double doors for entry.
You’ll sign in on the sheet provided at the table inside the doors.
Upon leaving out the same way after 8:25 when the students are dismissed, please SIGN OUT as well, so we have an accurate record for the main office.
