Vocabulary
Contraction - rounding of back created by use of abdominal muscles
Laterals - stretching to side with arms extended in parallel position overhead
Monkey Jump - jump done with legs extended to floor and body contracted over
Prances - like a trotting horse by stepping alternately on each foot and lifting the free leg with the knee bent
Saut de Chat - leap done by developing the first leg through passé then jumping to it
Sauté Arabesque - jump done in an arabesque position
Suspension Roll - exercise done by starting up on the knees, pressing weight through the hips to one side until you finally sit on hip and roll to other side
Tabletop - position of the body on one leg with other leg extended behind at a 90 degree angle with back and head in line with the leg
Tredding - exercise in which you alternate feet rolling through each foot from a flat foot to a pointed foot without the foot leaving the floor
Triplet- made up of three steps on alternating feet. The knee is bent slightly on the first step, then the next steps are with straight legs on the balls of the feet. Down,
