Message from Principal Jones Harris
November 14 - November 18
Greetings Parents,
Wow! We are already in the month of November! This month is set aside to celebrate all we are thankful for and as a time to reflect on the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Last year on November 4th, we were just settling back into our school building. One year later, we have been blessed to eliminate the mask, rebuild, and commune with our family and friends.
It was great to see so many of you at the Family Picnic. We were blessed again to enjoy laughter and beautiful weather. Our K-2 Grandparents Day was also an exciting event. Our grandparents and scholars participated in creative writing activities along with arts and crafts. It is our goal to ensure that each family engagement event is a learning experience, yet fun and exciting. We will host Grandparents Day for our 3rd-8th grade scholars in the future.
During the month of December, we will host our Family Literacy Night and Family Math Night. We look forward to sharing great ideas and strategies with you to engage with your scholars at home.
Progress reports were distributed Friday, November 11th. Please be sure to check your scholar's progress report. As you know, our Principal's List and Honor Roll scholars are recognized for their achievements each nine weeks. We will honor our 1st and 2nd nine weeks Principal's List and Honor Roll scholars at the end of the 2nd nine weeks marking period.
Before closing, I want to thank our faculty and staff for coordinating the successful family engagement events. Working together, our scholars will succeed and become great citizens in our community. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
With much appreciation,
Chief Special Agent,
Mrs. Vachella Jones (Harris)
