Welcome Concrete Open House

In celebration of the Town of Concrete joining our library district we will hold a Welcome Concrete Open House, January 2, 1 to 3pm. Stop by and meet our staff, learn more about library services and programs, and get your brand new card. If you already have a card you don't need to get a new one, we will just update your information. Fill out our survey about new library services and programs you'd like to see and get a chance to win a prize. Plus, snacks, beverages, and a craft for kids.

A “FROZEN” themed benefit gala is coming to Concrete!

March 5, 1 - 3pm


Spend an afternoon with the real-life author of the most beloved companion books to “FROZEN,” Barbara Jean Hicks, as she reads from her books. Purchase personalized autographed copies of Ms. Hicks' books. Sing and dance with Anna and Elsa as they come to life with performers from Emerald Kingdom Parties. Dress up as your favorite character and have your photo taken with Anna and Elsa. Refreshments and cupcakes provided. Raffle and door prizes. Tickets $20 per person. Proceeds to benefit a new library building for the Upper Skagit Library District.

Eagles, Salmon, and the Forest

How Salmon and Eagles Feed the Old Growth Forest

January 16, 4pm - 5pm


Join us at the Upper Skagit Library for an interactive presentation that will be fun for the whole family. Participants will help presenter, Laura Busby, Interpretive Specialist for Washington State Parks, demonstrate the connections between Skagit Valley forest and the winter salmon run that draws eagles here from many miles away. Get your Craft on! Craft Fridays at 5b's Bakery will occur the first Friday of each month, 6pm, throughout 2016. Each month community members will sponsor a different craft. Eaglet Storytime

In celebration of the Skagit Eagle Festival all Saturdays in January the library is sponsoring Eaglet Storytime. Join us on January 2 at 11am. Miss Brooke will read eagle themed stories, sing songs, and kids can create an eaglet craft. Families with young children, please join us.

Sit down with a library staff member and improve your basic computer skills, get help with job related concerns (resumes, cover letters, job search, job applications). Now offered every Friday here at the library, 10am to 11am.
