There are so many choices for middle school! Many parents ask me how to determine which school is the best for their child. There are several ways you can determine which school you want your student to attend for middle school. The first is to read the Choices magazine provided by the district. Being that they have not yet distributed these to schools, the only way you can view it now is to use the following link:
http://www.jefferson.k12.ky.us/Pubs/ChoicesMSHS.pdf. Reading this before going to Showcase of Schools gives you a better idea of what schools you want to really focus on. Make a list of those schools and visit their booth at Showcase. After Showcase, you may be able to narrow down your list based on your impression. If not, that's okay! Visit ALL of the remaining schools on your list during their Open House (see attached schedule). This will give you an even better idea of whether or not the school is a fit for your child. Once you have done this, make sure you register soon with your favorite school as your top choice. Always have a second choice and backup plan in case your first choice doesn't pan out.
