Miller Weekly Update
Week of February 21, 2021
Message from the Principal
Dear Miller School Students, Parents, and Teachers,
We have come to the end of February and nearing the end of the second marking period. We look forward to Spring where we will see warmer weather and sunnier days. Change is necessary and ongoing. Moving forward our district will offer more in-person learning opportunities for students beginning March 22, 2021.
For more information, see Dr. Gruccio's letter below regarding our EHT Road Forward Plan.
Enjoy your weekend
Sincerely,
Jim Battersby

Science and Technology Surrounding the Titanic
After learning about the fateful voyage, the students turned their attention these technologies that helped locate the wreck, as well as many areas of science that helped piece together clues to solve the mystery of her demise. After completing their research on a variety of topics, students were tasked with creating a video to share their findings. A "special edition" of the GT Times Smore newsletter will be released in the near future with the videos the students created.
In the meantime, check out this video by Madison S. and Sydney S. with an interview they conducted with world-renowned ornithologist, Tom Johnson. The girls did their study on birds of the North Atlantic, and Mr. Johnson has not traveled to the area and studied and photographed some of these elusive birds, but he has also conducted research with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
