Bencik's Buzz

Thank you to all of the families that joined us for family conferences last week. It was great to hear such good reports about all of the hard work our students are accomplishing and growing.

Please read below for all of the fun spirit wear days for the next week and information about Halloween. We are looking forward to all of the fun and celebration. The flyer also has the last chance to sign up for the Spooktackular event on Saturday. The event is great for families. Come out and see the different displays set up.

Fall Field Trip Fun

Pumpkin Family Project

It has been great to see all of the family pumpkin projects done by the Hometown families. The creativity and time each of your families have taken to complete the project has been great. Thank you for partnering with us to add some more visual excitement in our hallways.

We will host picture re-takes on Wednesday October 20th. Students should have received their first set of pictures. If your child will be retaking their pictures, they must return the first set. PM Pre-K students who are doing retakes should arrive between 8:45-9:30 for their retakes.

Unity Day

We will have Unity Day on Wednesday, October 20th to stand up to bullying. Please see the attached flyer. Please wear orange to support the standing up to bullying!

Every week we will shine a spotlight on one of our own amazing staff members. Meet Miss Sara Becker!

How long and what grades have you taught?

I have been teaching for 3 years and have always taught kindergarten.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

I would go back to the Czech Republic. My mom is from there and I would love to go back and visit my family and do more sightseeing.

What is the best thing about working at Hometown?

My favorite thing about working at Hometown is the community and how welcoming all of the staff and families are. There really is no place like Hometown.

What is your favorite food?

Pasta! I could eat it everyday!

Who is someone you admire and why?

I admire my mom. She is so kind and caring and has such a big heart.

If you see Miss Becker around our school make sure you say hello!!!
