A Note from Mrs. Hicks

Hello Families!

I am so very excited for the warm weather that we are having this weekend! 40 degrees sounds wonderful! I know the children really enjoyed getting to play outside at recess yesterday.

On Monday The Indianapolis Zoo and Connor Prairie will be free! Enjoy the weekend with your children!

Next Week


Tuesday- Day 4 Art

Wednesday- Day 1 Computer

Thursday- Day 2 P.E.

Friday- Day 3 Music

NWEA- I will be emailing middle of the year testing results next week. Please call or email with any questions.

New Phone- The extension for my new phone is 1124.

Reading- Because of all the missed days and delays we will wait to start the next reading unit. We will spend next week finishing our nonfiction unit.

Writing- We are going to finish writing to inform others about Martin Luther King Jr. Students will share their informational writing pieces.

Science- We will dig deeper and inquire about questions we have relating to force and motion.

Math- We will continue working to count various combinations of coins. We are also problem solving, adding, and subtracting using money.

Word Work- A new list will go home on Tuesday for students to work with. We will use this list for the next two weeks.

Eric Litwin, author of the first four Pete the Cat books, will be visiting and performing at Westfield Public Library (33 W. Hoover Street) at 6 pm on Jan. 21 (Weds.). This is free and no tickets/registration are required.
