Compass Farm Stand Run by Kids!
Yay veggies!
First Week - Wednesday, Sept 27th 11:00am - 1:30pm
This Wednesday is our first farm stand of the year and we want to be sure it's as big a success!
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
Families, if you can help please choose a slot here (see below for more info):

Or if you'd like to be involved, but aren't sure about the sign-up, email Anna:
Our second and third graders will be working together to sell veggies at the stand this fall. They're looking forward to stocking, restocking veggies, talking to customers, taking payments, and making change! We want this to be run by the kids, but at times they need some support and double checking with making change etc. We also really need some help moving the boxes of veggies and other supplies as well as putting up and down the tent. Are you available to help? It's a lot of fun to watch this all in action! Thanks for helping to make it possible.
The farm stand is open to our whole community. Compass classes will come down to visit as well as other students and faculty in the building. Each class has a "Farmstand Shared Fund" and will be contacting families to explain how their class system works. We invite families and other community members to visit the stand each week too! It's a great way to get healthy, local veggies each week.
Although the 2nd and 3rd graders are staffing the stand all the classes have an important role in the system. Our Kindergarten and 1st graders will be inventorying the leftovers, finding recipes, and cooking using the produce. The third grade will be charting and calculating how much is sold based on the initial inventory and leftover count coming from the K/1 classes. The fourth grade is piloting a lending bag project and are in the process of making the bags. The fourth grade will also be delivering the leftover produce to a local soup kitchen.
