Kenai Alternative High School

Principal's Corner with Kyle McFall

The month of September was one of growth at Kenai Alternative High School. We struggled through some lessons regarding accountability and respect, working hard to ensure that all students are heard and valued at our school. While some of these lessons were tough ones and required careful self-reflection, I fully believe that it will lead to the establishment of a strong school culture that welcomes students from all walks of life.

September also brought the end of our first rotation. We celebrated by having a Spirit Week and participating in daily spirit/team building activities during PE. The students and staff ended the week by enjoying an excellent taco bar lunch prepared by Annette Weigle and Susie Byrne.

Finally, the whole school kicked off the second rotation by going on a field trip and hiking Burney's Trail by Hidden Lake. The weather really cooperated and students and staff were able to enjoy a day outside. The trip also served as a great introduction to our 8 new students. All in all, it was an awesome day.
