Time for Kids Activity Reminder and Homework Info

Do not forget that the Time for Kids reading comprehension activity must be completed online at FSAConnect before tomorrow. If your child has not already done so, please go to FSAConnect to our "Reading" class and have your child complete the comprehension questions that accompany the Time for Kids articles found with Homework Packet #11.

In this upcoming week, I will not be distributing homework packets. Students will have small homework packets that will be due on Thursday, November 20. We will also be sending a Thanksgiving homework packet home over the break. It will have pages for students to write about what they've done each day with a small amount of other activities.

Friendsgiving is on Friday!

We're having our First Grade Friendsgiving celebration on Friday during our students' lunchtime. Both classes will be eating picnic-style in Mrs. Houston's classroom.

You've received a SignUpGenius inviting you to contribute a dish that represents your culture or is your child's favorite food to share with first grade. There are also opportunities to sign up to volunteer to serve food to our students.

If you are bringing a dish, please bring it to school by 11AM on Friday, November 21.

Please follow the link to our SignUpGenius to help out. Thanks for your support!

Don't forget about the Science Fair!

Please remember that students should be working on their Science Fair projects using the design process. All projects are due on Monday, December 1st when we arrive back from Thanksgiving Break. Students need to have completed the design process packet I gave you at the end of October and bring in at least one prototype of their product. I can't wait to see our students' creations!

Our Pilgrim Simulation

As we've been discussing the First Thanksgiving, we have imagined what it would be like to be the Pilgrims as they crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower, landed and survived in Plymouth colony, and met the Wampanoag. I've included some pictures from the work we've been doing together!
