Shout outs...
- A HUGE thank you to Melissa Putnam for being my co-worker on the yearbook this year! Melissa was in charge of building all the 3rd-5th grade pages. They look GREAT!! Can't wait for everyone to see the book! - Marla
- Sharpening the Saw Committee would like to thank those who brought snacks for STAAR administrators during the March administration. Our campus has shown how much we support each other. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Yay Reed!!! - Mina
- A very sincere "Thank You" for all your thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes during my recent surgery and recovery. Your support was crucial both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I will be forever indebted. - Paulette
- Thank you to everyone for being so prompt on helping me proofread the yearbook pages, and for distributing talent show applications. With the crazy testing week going on, I know that is just two more things to put on your plate, but they are both HUGE to the kids and parents! I really appreciate all your help! - Marla
- A thank-you to Crissy Cochrum for covering my afternoon bus duty so I could take my daughter to the dentist. The bus was late and she stepped up immediately without me even asking! Thank you Crissy!!! - Kellie
- Huge shout out to Sofie for all her work on STAAR coordination - Mina for coordinating SPED and to ALL the staff who administered, monitored, relieved, and kept their class respectful of the testing environment! Everyone was AWESOME!! - Lisa
A writing conference with a 2nd grader
Me: What are you writing today?
Emma: My friend and I are writing a procedural text about origami and paper art. I am making the table of contents.
Me: How are you deciding what to put in your book?
Emma: I know how to do two different origamis, and my friend knows how to do some paper art stuff. I think we need to do more research so we can have more origami in it.
Me: I see that you have the origami and the paper art mixed together in the table of contents. Here is something to think about - do you want to have all the origami grouped together and then all the paper art projects grouped together, or do you want them mixed like you have them now?
Emma: Hmmm. That is something to consider. My partner and I will talk about it and make a decision before we publish.
