Unit of Inquiries
- My School
An inquiry into learning all about how the school works, the people that work together in schools to help students learn. We looked into the features of schools, the roles and responsibilities of the staff within the school and the geography around our school.
- Lets be friends
An inquiry into the nature of the self, beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities and cultures; rights and
responsibilities; what it means to be human.
- How the World Works - Weather
An inquiry into the nature of the self, beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.
- Imagine That
An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express our ideas, feelings, nature, culture, beliefs and values; the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity, our appreciation of the aesthetic.
- Feather, Fur or Fins
An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.
Dough Gym
The children explore various fine motor and writing activities three times a week in our Dough gym sessions. This is our writing readiness program to strengthen the children’s fine motor and gross motor skills for future writing.
Literacy Week
Drop everything and read - children stopped walking in the corridor to read a book once hearing the song ‘Gotta keep reading’
The children took photos on their iPads of the provocation, which was used to create creative writing, children using their imagination as to where the chest came from and why?
World book day dress up
The Dinosaur Rescue Day!
One warm sunny November morning, FS2 found some mysterious frozen eggs in the classroom….after investigating the eggs we discovered that there were baby dinosaurs hidden inside. We then spent the morning smashing, crashing and bashing the eggs to release the baby dinosaurs.
Finally, we managed to release the babies and return them to their mother…..Phew!
iPads & iMacs
The children explored coding on their iPads, directing Beebot to a specific place in each stage of the game.
The children explore various educational games on the iMacs weekly in the iMac lab.
Counting Activities
Engaging in shop role play, taking money form the bank, choosing their items and paying for them at the shop till as well as sorting various coins form different countries according to similarities
