World Cancer Day
Hello Everyone,
Next Thursday is World Cancer Day. I wanted to take a moment this week to highlight it because, like many of your families, my family and friends have been significantly impacted by the disease.
Cancer is a critical health issue that affects all people, no matter their ethnicity, age, wealth, education, etc...It doesn’t matter. And while we all give it relatively little thought, cancer kills almost 10 million people annually. That’s more than AIDS, TB, and Malaria combined. And, though we have made many inroads in understanding and treatments, there are so many different forms of the disease that, without further research and study happening all over the world, will grow to more than 13 million deaths a year by 2030.
You know people struggling with the disease right now, in your family or at work, and if you don’t, honestly, you should encourage everyone to get screened because the odds are they just don’t know.
We want you to know how important you are to our community and to your children and we want the best for you. Please take care of yourselves. Get regular cancer screenings. Reach out to the many community resources that can both educate and support you. And, when you need it, ask for help! both ECISD and CIS can help connect you with all of these resources.
Enjoy your weekend!
Mr. Fulce
No importa.
Sr. Fulce
