In this workshop, youth will be learning basic sewing skills and technology to make wearable art.

Call for 2022 4-H Council Members!!
We are beginning the search for 2022 Douglas/Sarpy County 4-H Council members!
What is the Douglas/Sarpy County 4-H Council?
The purpose of the Council is to fulfill the mission of the 4-H youth development education program of Nebraska Extension in cooperation with the Extension staff and the Extension Board. The Council works to stimulate and promote interest in 4-H and its programs as well as establish long-range goals for the Douglas/Sarpy 4-H program.
Who is on 4-H Council?
The 4-H Council is made up of at least twelve adult members and eight teen members. A teen representative must be at least fourteen years of age as of January 1st of the current year.
How often will 4-H Council meet and where?
At least six meetings will be held each year, with the dates of these meetings set at the first meeting held in January. Meetings are typically held at the Douglas County Extension office.
How long do members serve?
Adult members will serve a two-year term and can serve a consecutive total of three terms. Teen members of the Council will serve a one-year term and shall not serve more than four total years.

Scholarship Deadlines for High School Seniors
Nebraska 4-H Foundation
Nebraska 4-H Foundation has several scholarships for high school seniors! Applications are due mid-January. Specifics about our scholarships can be found: https://www.ne4hfoundation.org/scholarships/
Martha and Don Romeo Scholarship Fund Nebraska Association of Fair Managers
The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education. The scholarship will be awarded at the annual NAFM convention in January. Learn more here.
Space Workshop
Join us November 15 from 6-8 pm for a fun night of science and stars!
In this workshop, youth (ages 8-18) will be engineering their own telescope and learning about constellations in our inflatable planetarium.
This interactive event will be held at your local 4-H office (8015 W. Center Road).

Catch a Calf - National Western Stock Show is around the corner. Please help promote the opportunity to eligible 4-H members. This programs is the best in the Nation for young people to participate.

Clover Kid New Year’s Celebration
Parents and children ages 5-7 are invited to be a part of the Douglas-Sarpy 4-H Clover Kid Program, Fall Nature activities.
- December 11 (10 am -12 pm) - New Year’s Celebration at Noon
- Douglas-Sarpy Extension office.
Nebraska Extension Douglas-Sarpy Counties is located at 8015 West Center Road, Omaha. There is no cost to attend, but participants are asked to preregister with Rachel at rwright4@unl.edu.

4-H Project Idea - rolls
Get ready for fair by making the dinner rolls for Thanksgiving!
Rolls are entered into the fair at: Healthy Lifestyles - Department E DIVISION 411 – COOKING 301
All exhibits made in the Cooking 301 or Cooking 401 projects must have been prepared without the assistance of a bread machine for mixing, raising, or baking of the food item.
CLASS 4 DINNER ROLLS (Scoresheet SF138) Any yeast recipe, 4 rolls on a paper plate. May be cloverleaf, crescent, knot, bun, bread sticks, or any other type of dinner roll.
