Holy Trinity Catholic School
Home of the Saints - September 23, 2015
A Note from the Principal's Desk
- On Friday, September 25th, we will have an All School Mass at 9:00am at the East Campus, Holy Family. All students need to follow Mass dress code on Friday, September 25th - this means solid color collared shirts/sweatshirts or Holy Trinity spirit wear with shorts/shirts/pants that are jean/khaki/navy/black.
- Included in the purple folder last evening, you should have found a form to complete for Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will hold conferences for the parents of students in full day preschool through grade eight on Monday, Oct. 19th and Tuesday, Oct 20th from 3:30-4:30pm and 5:30-7:30pm. We ask that parents complete the form and return it to the office as soon as possible. Preschool parents in the half day programs are asked to contact the teacher if you wish to conference.
- It is important for parents to be partners with the school in educating our youth. One way that you can do this is to stay up to date on your child's progress, the school events, and a variety of other things, through Sycamore. Thank you to those families who have been on Sycamore! However, there are quite a few families who have not logged into Sycamore as of yet. If you have misplaced your login information or forgotten your password, please contact Mrs. Mundy at cmundy@evdio.org. Just as a reminder, midterm grades are posted on Sycamore - paper copies will not be sent home. So, if you haven't logged in, now is a great time to do so!
- Mark your Calendar: Book Fairs will be held on September 28th-30th at Central Campus and October 6th - 8th at East Campus. This is a great way to encourage your children to be readers!
- We are in the process of finalizing picture dates and will let you know as soon as they are scheduled. Thank you for your patience.
Mrs. Sally Sternberg
#WalkWithFrancis
The students have been praying throughout the week as we journey with Pope Francis. Several classrooms have spent time talking about the connection of St. Peter to Pope Francis, making Pope Francis puppets, and even catching a few minutes of the Holy Father's address to Congress and the people. We encourage you to take a few minutes to discuss these historic events, both in the life of our Church and in our country, with your child this week.
Destination Imagination
Destination Imagination is a wonderful way for kids to learn about team-building, brainstorming, being creative, thinking on your feet, conflict resolution, performing in front of others and so much more. We have a parent who would be willing to coordinate the Destination Imagination Program. However, we are in need of parents who would coach the various teams. You can find out more about the program by going to www.indiana-di.org. Without a parent coordinator and parent coaches, we are not able to offer this incredible opportunity to the students. If you are interested in working with this program, please contact Mrs. Amy Kippenbrock by phone or text at 812-309-0115 or by email at akippenbrock@stens.com. More information will be coming home soon!
A Peek into our West Campus classroom!
Story time
We had a great time learning about a crazy cat who changed his colors all the time until he finally decided it was always best to just be himself!
Playground fun!
We had a great time playing outside and the kids even wanted me to go down the slide. Good thing I didn't get stuck halfway through!
Minds In Motion
Keeping our minds mentally fit is important to learning! Minds In Motion is fun for the kids but strengthens both sides of the mind and coordination with gross motor skills.
From the PTA
Servus Cash! (formally known as BR Bucks) is here until October 4th! Don't miss out on this SCRIP opportunity. More information was included in the purple folders last night.
Event Information
St. Vincent de Paul Walk for the Poor
This is a great opportunity for families to come out, walk together, have a little fun with a scavenger hunt, and best of all, support those who are in need in our local community. Look forward to seeing you there in your Holy Trinity spirit wear or colors!
