Lion's Club Enrichment

Welcome!
Registration is open by season (fall, winter, spring & summer) and includes Monday-Thursday after school classes, Friday after school classes, private music lessons, and more! In the summer we offer new exciting classes every week in the morning and afternoon.
The goal of Lion’s Club Enrichment is to build a Christ-centered community for our students beyond the school day. When students are given the opportunity to connect with others who share common interests and hobbies, community and friendships will thrive!

LEGO Architects
Join Mrs. Sherwood to dive into the incredible world of Architecture! Learn about famous architects and recreate their brilliant architectural designs with LEGO models. Communication and teambuilding will be an important part of our class as we work together create models of Paris, New York City, Statue of Liberty or the White House.

Autumn Arts & Crafts
Celebrate the changing of the season with creative fall craft projects, apple cider tasting, leaf painting and more.

Snack Attack: Fun with Healthy Foods
Join us in the kitchen to discover how fun (and delicious) fruits and veggies can be! Create healthy after school snacks while learning the importance of kitchen safety, food prep and nutrition.

Cultural Exploration: Germany
Lions Club's Cultural Exploration classes provide foreign language survey and discovery of the culture, traditions and celebrations of various contries. This fall we are exploring Germany with Mrs. Antje Scott.

Sports & Fitness
Fun and Fitness should always go together! We will be learning and playing a variety of sports and also work on strength and stretching. We will cover soccer, basketball, pickle ball, tag, dodgeball, and more. The goal is for everyone to be active and have fun the entire time!

Beginning Piano
In each piano/keyboard class students will learn to read and write music, learn to play numerous songs, experience ensemble playing, ear training, music theory, fun musical games, and rhythm and movement activities. Your children will love to come to piano lessons! Parents are welcomed to the last class of the session for a mini-recital to applaud your children's accomplishments!
Requirement: Students must have a keyboard or piano to practice on and be prepared to practice daily.

Honor Choir
NCA now has a place for your young singer to begin their choral journey! Honor Choir is for the 2nd-4th grader in your family who lives with a song in their heart. We want to nurture and inspire your student’s passion for singing!
This is an auditioned ensemble that meets every Friday for an hour of rehearsal, community building, and lots of music fun! We will have performance opportunities throughout the year to showcase what we have been working on. NCA has a strong tradition of fine music making, and now our young singers can participate too!

Photography
Come learn photography with Mrs. Karli Geers! Students will learn about camera care and use, light, subject, creativity & breaking the rules, storytelling, and more! Students will have lots of opportunity to apply the lessons and practice their skills during class and let their creativity flow!

Jr. Soccer Skills
Students will learn warm up exercises, work on fundamental skills and then will scrimmage and play games. The emphasis is on having fun, developing and learning skills and embracing Christian character through team play.
Optional: Students may wear cleats and shin guards but they are not required. Students will be given time to use the restroom, and change into soccer cleats before the soccer class begins.

Jr. Maker's Club: STEM
Come complete Kiwi Co. projects with us! Kiwi Co. is an innovative company working to inspire youth to design, create, and engage their world through engineering, tinkering, and FUN!
Students will work with together to create the projects from some of Kiwi Co.’s most popular crates and bring home 2 completed projects from their time together.

Basketball Skills
In this class, students will develop a variety of skills-shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense- while having fun with friends! Over the course of the class, the students’ self confidence will grow along with their overall appreciation of the game.

Christmas Gift Making
Homemade gifts have such a special meaning for the person who receives them. Students will be working on a variety of amazing gifts this year to tuck under the tree. Students will also have the opportunity to wrap their gifts for Christmas!
This is a great opportunity for your child to use their skills and creativity to bless others. Please join Mrs. Alves for a special time of gift making and fun!

Intramural Soccer
This soccer program is perfect for both beginners and seasoned players alike. Students will be divided into teams based on their level of soccer experience which will allow the coach of each team to customize their approach and game plan. Each Friday schedule will consist of soccer practice, small group devotions and a scrimmage game with the other teams.
Optional: Students may wear cleats and shin guards but they are not required. Students will be given time to use the restroom, and change into soccer cleats before the soccer class begins.

Jr. Science Explorers
Calling all scientists! Come and enjoy hands-on experiments while learning The Scientific Method, problem solving and asking questions. Together we will experiment with States of Matter, Prisms and Reflection, Density, Germs and much more!

Volleyball Skills
Learn some of the ins-and-outs of the game and enjoy some friendly competition! Athletes will learn new skills, develop a knowledge of the game and practice scrimmaging across the net.

LEGO STEM
LEGO STEM focuses on improving teamwork and communication as students bring LEGO creations to life! We will use the engineering design process to come up with models of solutions to specific problems. Hands-on activities make this class a ton of fun while equipping students with important life skills and STEM experience!

T-Ball Basics
Join Ms. Merisko on the diamond to learn the basics of baseball with the assistance of a Tee! Young athletes will practice hand-eye coordination, learn the order of the bases and have a ton of fun! All sports equipment will be provided.

From Farm to Market: Knitting
Join Mrs. Petrie to explore the science of fiber and look at the various ways we can use those fibers to make items. We will look at the many different types of fibers available from plants and animals and discover what it takes to go from collecting the raw fibers to making finished garments. Additionally, students will learn the basics of knitting and make their very own drop spindle to spin wool into yarn!

Holiday Baking
Oh what fun we will have baking and decorating cookies while listening to Christmas Music. Each class will end with a Christmas story while we enjoy our cookies! Students will have fun learning kitchen safety, measuring, sorting, reading recipes, and other basic baking techniques.

How does my child get to his/her Enrichment class?
How do I pick up my student from an Enrichment class?
Please remember to be prompt! We have a 5-minute grace period. After the grace period you will be assessed a fee for late pick-up.
The class I wanted to enroll in is full. What now?
We cannot guarantee that a spot will open for your student, but full classes and waitlists let us know which classes we should offer again!
Do we have class on non-school days?
If school is cancelled for any reason, including inclement weather, Enrichment classes will not be held. These classes will either be made-up or you will be refunded for the missed class.
What if I know my student will be absent?
We do not offer refunds for student absences/cancellations.
What is your refund policy?
You may always drop a class after the deadline, but you will not be eligible for a refund.
If class is cancelled for any reason, the class will either be rescheduled or you will be refunded for the cancelled class.
