Out-of-District Activities
Attending out-of-district activities requires prior approval in the following circumstances:
- The activity occurs during your contract day and requires a substitute or you are requesting professional leave to attend
- You are requesting that the district provide funding for registration, travel, or other expenses
If you are requesting professional leave or funding, you will need to contact your department director, coordinator, or facilitator or your building administrator to discuss the opportunity. Points earned for an approved activity for which the district provides funding or professional leave will be purposed for relicensure only.

Department
If you would like to earn points for attending an out-of-district activity that occurs outside of your contract day and you are not requesting any financial support from the district, that is possible through the Action Plan Process. Points earned for these activities may be purposed for both relicensure and salary schedule movement. Learn more about the process on the Action Plan Flow Chart.
District Focused Professional Learning
At the January 4th session, several departments had the opportunity to engage in choice sessions. Many of those sessions were led or facilitated by educators who work with students in classrooms each and every day!
In order for choice sessions led by colleagues to continue, WE NEED YOU! If you would like to step forward and share your knowledge and expertise with others as a session leader, reach out to your department director, coordinator, or facilitator, or your building administrator to let them know. You can discuss what would potentially be involved in preparation and delivery of sessions. Thank you!
