Message From Dr. Stabler

Dear Abbotts Hill Families,

As we gear up for 2nd semester, please take a moment to fill out this short Commitment Survey to let us know your plans for your student as we move into the Second Semester of the 2020-2021 school year. The selection you make will be in place for the first 9 weeks of Second Semester.

It is understood that if parents do not make a selection, the child’s placement will default to the placement that they are currently in. However, we do not want to make any assumptions and desire to obtain accurate information so that we can adequately plan for class size, social distancing in the classroom, lunch room, and during recess. Thank you to the parents that have completed the survey and for parents that have not completed it, thank you in advance for helping us better meet the needs of our students and staff.

Please click here( to complete the survey.

Thank you,

Roytunda Stabler

Please complete the survey by Friday, December 11, 2020.

Winter Break Meal Kits will be distributed through our bus lane on Thursday, December 17th from 8:30-9:30 am. News From the P.E. Department - Kids Heart Challenge Thank You Gifts Pickup.

Welcome back Jaguars! We hope you had a restful break!

If your child collected donations for Kids Heart Challenge last school year and has not received their "thank you" gifts yet. Please sign-up on Sign-Up Genius on the school website to come in on picture day (Tuesday, December 8th) and pick them up. You will find them inside the hallway where you enter to the music wing. The bags are labeled with the child's name and grade level for the current year.

*Reminders---students should wear sneakers and comfortable clothing on their PE days or when working out anytime. The sneakers will help prevent injury and comfortable clothing will give them room to move freely. All students should be practicing the Fitnessgram exercises, they are: push-ups (upper body strength), curl ups (core strength), pacer (heart and lung endurance), and sit and reach (flexibility). To learn more about the Fitnessgram assessments, go to: 4th and 5th grade students will be assessed in these areas in the spring.

It’s Time to Make Your Commitment for the 3rd Quarter

At the board meeting, Superintendent Looney announced that parents will continue to have a choice in how their students learn during our third quarter. Each family received a link to a survey. It is important that parents complete this survey for every child that attends Fulton County Schools. You will have until Friday, December 11 to select Remote Learning or Face-to-Face instruction for the third quarter. Parents are being asked to commit to one or the other for the duration of the quarter. Your help in getting 100% completion of the survey is greatly appreciated. We kindly request that you click here and complete the survey today.

FCBOH Student COVID-19 Reporting System

The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an on-line portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases. Please make a report to the FCBOH when your student is COVID-19 positive, has a pending COVID-19 test result, or has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person. Also, please use this resource for official reporting rather than alerting the school and/or teacher. If you must engage the school/teacher, please do so after you have made an official report to the FCBOH. Lastly, to ensure the protection of our school community, please do not allow your child to attend school or school-sponsored events when he/she is ill and/or has any of the above COVID-19 concerns.

Please click here for more details and consider posting this document in a visible location for easy access. Should any situations arise, Fulton County will follow the Closing Matrix (click here) to determine next steps.

It’s time to make someone’s heart smile this holiday season!!!! We are participating in a card and ornament drive. We need as many ornaments and cards we can make. Let’s put those art skills to work to brighten the holidays for the residents at Belmont Village Senior Living. Gift wrapped boxes will be located around the school for students and staff to drop ornaments and cards in. We will have a box outside for virtual students to drop off their cards and ornaments. There is no limit to the number of ornaments and cards you can make!
