Principal Corner

On Monday, August 30, our school council had their annual orientation meeting to kick off the 2021-22 school year, with Superintendent David Kessler from Owensboro providing us with the training.

According to the Constitution and By-Laws of the Council:

“The Council is a consultative council under the spiritual leadership of the episcopal-vicar designated by the bishop. It is the purpose of the Council to assist the episcopal-vicar and the principal in the governance of the school. When the Council meets with the episcopal-vicar, principal, and a quorum of members in attendance and the group agrees on a policy matter, then the decision is effective and binding on all. The Council is consultative in the following sense: the members cannot act apart from the episcopal-vicar and principal and cannot make decisions binding on the school without the approval of the episcopal-vicar and principal.” (For SJS, our episcopal vicar is Fr. Ryan Harpole, St. Joseph’s Pastor.)

We appreciate those who serve on our council--a volunteer ministry that helps our school plan and think ahead for future growth. (The council members were listed in the August 23 school newsletter, sent to you in an email.)

I pray everyone enjoys their Labor Day weekend! God Bless!
