The Blue Whale is the largest animal that migrates. Many are seen at this time. Blue whales usually travel alone, but can travel in pairs. They migrate to mate and give birth to calves.

Traveling in Herds
The African Elephant travels in herds. Elephants migrate because of the amount of grass and other food they need to eat in a day. They keep traveling to areas to find these foods and this allows regrowth in areas as they have foraged.

The Arctic Tern makes the longest migration of any living creature. The long journey ensures that this bird sees two summers per year. In its lifetime it may travel up to 2.4 million miles. MIgrates north to breed and travels back south.
