Welcome Back from Speical Area Educators
Welcome Back from Mr. Wade!!!
We will have another music teacher on Mondays and Thursdays but the county hasn't found one yet. Ms. Simmons told us she couldn't come back right before school started and we haven't found a replacement. In the meantime Mr. Ensley, who subs at Brentwood a lot, is going to be with us. We will be combining some classes and working together to make the transition smooth.
I will be sending home invitations to join chorus soon. The chorus will be involved in our Holiday Program in December. Remember it is an invitation. You have the choice for your students to be involved or not. We meet on Thursdays after school until 2:50 pm.
You can follow my what we do in class by going to http://www.planbookconnect.com. Type in Wade in the search box and then select Gorden Wade from Brentwood Elementary. You can browse through my lesson plans for each grade to see what kind of things we are doing.
Second grade is going to be involved in our Holiday program in December this year. We are going to have help from a UWF student with the drama. This is exciting! It should be a great program.

Technology Tips with Ms. Baker
If you are looking for ways to help your student with technology, try having your child type using "home row" position. Some great typing websites are;
TypeRacer
Dance Mat Typing
All students would also benefit from bringing their OWN headphones to school each day. These can be purchased for as little as $1.00 at the Dollar Tree or you can also find them at Wal-Mart, Target, and other stores.
If you are looking for ways to show your child's teacher a little appreciation ALL of the Brentwood teachers LOVE iTunes gift cards so they can purchase new apps for the students! (Something to keep in mind as the holidays roll around!) If you don't want to purchase a gift card you can also "gift" an app to the teacher. This ensures that the class gets the app and it can cost as little as 99 cents!
Finally, be on the look out for Technology Club applications! Technology Club is for 1st-5th grade students and is held one morning a week BEFORE school! There will be a mandatory parent meeting for any students interested and a flyer will be sent home a week before the meeting!
As always, I look forward to working with all of Brentwood's students and families!
Sincerely,
Ms. Baker
