- Progress Reports sent home
May 19:
- Meeting at 5:30 p.m. (cafeteria) for parents of incoming 7th and 8th graders going into honors science for the 2016-2017 school year. This is an informational meeting about science fair and is not required.
May 20:
- All library books due
- Please check with your child to see if they have any library books that need to be turned in. Ms. Watkins, our librarian will be making phone call for missing book and requesting payment information.
May 24:
- Athletics meeting for 2016 - 2017 (See below)
May 27:
- Student Holiday
May 30:
- Memorial Day Holiday
June 3:
- Last day of school
From Nurse Fox:
For all 6th Grade Students: Please provide an updated immunization record to the school nurse before May 31st. You will not be allowed to receive your 7th grade schedule in the fall until all immunizations are up to date.
It shall be the responsibility of the parent to take unused medications home.
All medication needs to be picked up prior to June 3rd, the last day of school. UNUSED MEDICATION WILL NOT BE SENT HOME WITH A STUDENT. It will be destroyed.

Returning to Frankford for the 2016-2017 school year
There are still students who have not turned in their blue forms. It is important for us to know if you are returning to Frankford, or moving to a new school in the Fall. If you have lost your blue form, there are extras in the counseling office. Please turn your form to your 7th period teacher or bring it to the counseling office as soon as possible. The deadline for returning the form is May 16th.

Math 6/Honors Math 6
Math 6 – We will be starting our Financial Literacy unit at the beginning of the week. We will be MAP testing in the computer labs on Thursday and Friday.
Honors – We will continue learning about equations and inequalities and how to solve and graph them. Thursday and Friday we will be in the computer labs for MAP testing.
English Language Arts
This week our students spent the first part of their week knocking out the STAAR Math and Reading tests. The remainder of the week will be spent continuing our study of science fiction as we begin reading several short stories.
Science
History
Students completed sharing information that discovered identifying historical examples of conflict and cooperation between nations during the 20th century.
PACE
Gateway Academy Engineering Summer Camp
• Each session is four days long (Mon. – Thurs.) and will focus on robotics.
• Camp program time is from 7:45 am–11:45 am.
• Tuition is $95.
• Each session is limited to 25 students who are incoming 7th and 8th grade PISD students
• Camp is located at Robinson, Otto and Wilson.
• T-Shirts will be provided for all participants.

Athletic Meeting 6th grade parents
Tuesday, May 24th there will be a very important meeting for all 6th grade students who wish to participate in athletics next year and their parents. The meeting will be from 6:00-7:00PM in the Frankford Gym. We will cover some very important information regarding athletics participation, required forms, expectations, try-outs, equipment, and much more. Please make plans to attend. I will cover the information and then have a time for Q & A so you can be prepared as we head into the summer. You will also get a chance to meet the coaches that will be working with you child. We look forward to seeing you there. Go Falcons!!!

News from our Athletic Director, Coach McDonnell
- 2016 Impact Testing- Saturday, May 14th. Please see the attached letter and form regarding Concussion Impact Testing. This is a screening tool to assist medical professionals in evaluating athletes after a suspected concussion. This is offered by the Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Center for only $2.00. This is optional but encouraged. The testing is at Plano West Senior High in the “G Building.” The Frankford time slot is at 11:30. Please arrive 30 minutes before testing begins. If you are planning to have your child tested and have not emailed me yet, please do so at jeff.mcdonnell@pisd.edu with your child’s name.
- Keep your eyes and ears open for a Parent Meeting for all current 6th graders who are wanting to participate in athletics next year. Once the date is set I will get that information out to you.
- Don't forget about summer programs for athletics- Summer Conditioning Program, Football Camps, Volleyball Camps, Baseball Camps…

World Wear Project -
Be a part of diverting thousands of pounds of shoes and clothing from local landfills by filling our shoes and clothing donation bin with your gently used shoes, clothing, purses, belts, wallets, hats, caps, backpacks, hard toys, stuffed animals, and pots and pans.
Frankford has partnered with the World Wear Project. For every pound collected, our PTA receives $0.15. The benefit to you? Neater closets, drawers, toy boxes, and kitchens, and the knowledge that less textile waste will end up in our local landfills. Our World Wear Project donation box is located in the parking lot by the gym.
