Words of Inspiration
“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so
long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.”
-Helen Keller
A Special Applause to...
PD on the Fly...
We use so many teaching strategies and it makes it difficult to separate out what we are doing to make such a positive impact. While I know it isn't the only strategy, I feel your work around conferencing and goal setting with students is working! I am so impressed with the way you have used this strategy to leverage the relationships you work so hard to build with students.
With all of that said, the ability for this staff to iterate is what makes it elite. This month I want to share an article that was given to me by a staff member (Tim Klein).
The final paragraph of this article spoke to me. The work you are doing is teaching students more than you intend. "Our students are on the edge of possibilities, on the verge of pursuing and developing their potential to make positive and fulfilling contributions to this world. Our students may not be consciously aware of what they hope to achieve; they may experience only "glimmerings" of possibilities and nothing more. To help our students recognize and connect with their aspirations is one of the greatest gifts we can bestow on them, for students who know and can articulate themselves in this way are empowered for life."
