About the Host
Ms. Childress is an advocate for helping her community with a strong focus on community service, fundraising and mentoring. She has a passion for helping others, and empowering women. Ms. Childress's life motto is surrounded by her favorite quote by William Shaespeare's Twelth Night - “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”
Outside of parenting, working, and mentoring, Ms. Childress enjoys writing, painting, and is a lover of all things beautiful!

Meet the MC!
Lori Wilcox, MEd
Ms. Wilcox is one of a small number of African American females working with young males. During the summer of 2012 and 2013 she mentored over 68 youth through collaboration with UCAN’s Youth Employment Program. She actively partners with the local elementary and high schools for her annual City Sticker Design contest, MLK Essay contest, ISAT Test Prep Kits (provided to over 1500 students in district 170) and is an advocate for community outreach, collaborations, schools and libraries. She created and hosted an annual Clerk’s Association Spring into Action Education Summit 2012, 2013 and 2014 for over 50+ local municipal clerks and staff. A 12 year combat veteran of the USAR, she is actively involved in the VFW. Finally, Lori is pursuing an Ed.D. in Leadership.

Attorney Joy White
Prior to co-founding ELS with three other female partners, Attorney White was the Founder and Managing Partner of The White Legal Group LLC—the first and only woman-owned and minority-owned boutique law firm in Georgia, to focus exclusively on providing consulting and legal services for professional women, their families, and their woman-owned businesses. The firm mission for The White Legal Group was “Empowering highly-motivated women to accomplish their personal and business objectives.” In that practice Attorney White focused on Family Law, Employment Law, and Business Law.
Attorney White earned her Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in English Literature, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Spelman College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from Vanderbilt University Law School.
Attorney White has an unwavering commitment to the support and enrichment of her community, which she demonstrates by providing legal representation to low-income individuals lacking the financial resources to obtain legal counsel. In 2009, she was awarded The Judge Clarence Seeliger Local Justice Award by the Women’s Resource Center, for her outstanding pro bono representation of a survivor of international human sex trafficking.
Attorney White has spent countless hours volunteering, and is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia (Labor & Employment Section), Atlanta Bar Association (Family Law, Labor & Employment, and Small/Solo Practitioners Sections), Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), Gate City Bar Association, Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL), and National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL).
Attorney White is the proud mother of two sons: Jayden (9) and Bryson (6). Her favorite pass times are dancing, yoga, Pilates, and watching movies.

Dr. Coleen James
Dr. Coleen James was born in the beautiful island of Antigua. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY and Miami, FL. Dr. James has been working in Real Estate since 2000 as a Certified Residential Appraiser and Real Estate Agent. Dr. James has been a College Professor for over 14 years. Dr. James teaches Marketing and Management courses at several universities.
Dr. Coleen James is an industry expert in the area of African American and Hispanic American higher education and financial growth. She has a passion for educating these minority groups in the areas of creating generational wealth and seeking higher education.
When not teaching and participating in speaking engagements, Dr. James enjoys spending time with her 7 year old son and traveling. Dr. James believes that once we believe in ourselves, anything is possible.

Trish Loveland, MA/MBA
Trish is a Juris Doctorate candidate at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and plans to use her law degree to serve the people in communities most in need of legal assistance, but that have limited access or means to acquire legal services. Trish believes that when people “know better, they do better”, therefore Trish is committed to empowerment through knowledge and educating people on the application of that knowledge. According to Trish, the knowledge begins with each person knowing that they are “GREAT”.

Ms. Hill has been recognized as VIP Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. Ms. Hill currently works in private practice offering geriatric consulting to businesses and care management seniors.
