Weekly Family Update #38

May 28, 2023

Principal's Message

Hello Falcon Families,

I hope you are enjoying your 3-day weekend. I would encourage your family to take time tomorrow to share with your student the significance and importance of Memorial Day. My family and I will be talking about my grandparent’s role during World War II. I had a grandparent who built P-51 Mustang engines at a factory in Long Beach and another who was on the front lines in Italy and Europe. We will be looking at pictures and sharing stories. I would encourage you to enjoy the time with family and be mindful of the importance of this holiday. I appreciate those of you who have served or have family members who have served.

I cannot believe we are starting June this week. This school year has just flown by. From now until our last day of school on Friday June 9th, we plan to finish strong with a focus on student learning and connecting with students. Summer is around the corner, but we need to keep up that Falcon Grit!

Reminder that there is no school tomorrow Monday May 29th for Memorial Day.

Updates from the Attendance Office

Requesting Early Release For Your Students

Please remember to call the Attendance Hotline to request an early release for your student. If you leave us a message, we will make our best effort to have your student waiting for you when you arrive at the Welcome Center to sign them out.

We are currently short-staffed in the office and during lunch supervision. Calling ahead will allow us to notify your student before they go to lunch. With over 750 students at lunch at one time, finding students can be challenging and time-consuming while you wait.

Please remember to call the Attendance Hotline for early release, absence & late arrivals: 858-676-6963.
