Operation Greater Joy- The gift of giving!
Operation Greater Joy is a program that is funded by many generous agencies and people who want to donate and support our students and their families during the holiday season. Some of the major contributors in the past are our PTO, the Savona Fire Department, local churches, and teachers! The program is very similar to the Salvation Army Angel Tree in which you would be provided with a list of wants and needs for a child and you would shop anonymously for that child. This program directly benefits students in Campbell-Savona!
If you are interested in anonymously sponsoring a child to shop for this holiday season, contact Teresa Powell at (607) 527-9800 or tpowell@cscsd.org. Please share how many children you are interested in sponsoring. We also welcome individual donations of brand new toys or clothes, as well, to support the program. If you are interested in only buying a portion of a child's items, we can also use your help:)
All shoppers are anonymous and will not be shared with the children or their families. Donations are brought to the school and assigned a number. The families then pick them up from school the week before Christmas Break.
We appreciate any help you would like to give!
Lost and Found
School Safety
Dropping Students off in the Morning
Now that the school year is in full swing the school has been doing safety checks of our morning procedures. One thing that we have identified that has created a potential safety hazard is the parent drop off in the Route 226 circle. The purpose of the parent drop-off in the morning is to allow for a safe, quick and efficient way to drop off students in the morning, allowing parents to move on with their day too.
Please Note the Following Processes that will make this drop off site run safely and efficiently:
- · Make sure that your child is ready to go when you pull into the circle.
- · Pull up as far as you can in the circle, do not let your child off before you enter the drop off zone.
- · Safely pull over and let your child out of the car on the passenger side as not to block traffic or create a dangerous situation. Wish your child a great day at your car and then safely pull out the circle as quickly and safely as possible.
- · Please Do Not walk your child to the doors, or wait to watch your child walk to the doors as this takes time and backs up traffic creating a hazard to others. The school has a monitor at the doors that is watching closely to make sure that every child is safe as he/she is dropped off and comes into school.
If you would like to walk your child to the school doors, please park in the visitors parking lot and then walk them over. If you need to enter the school for any reason, please use the front doors of the school that go into the main office and sign in. The Route 226 Doors are not an entrance for parents.
Thank you for your understanding and desire to support our school in being a safe and child centered place.

Congratulations to the NYSAHPERD Poster Contestants
The New York State Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance is sponsoring a Poster Contest with the theme "Live a Healthy Adventure."
Art and Health came together to allow our 6th graders to creatively express what they have learned, and attempt to inspire others to engage in physical activity and healthy decision making.
Each NYS school can only enter 5 contestants. After some difficult discussion the following 5 students' posters were chosen to be sent to NYSAHPERD for entry into the contest.
Congratulations to Lily Mortensen, Lillyana Hayes, Emma Enderle, Liliana Feldman, and Chase Nichols.
Winners will not announced until December. Stay Tuned!
