Queen of Apostles School
Term 3 Week 4 - Thursday 11 August 2022

Classroom Conversion
This week the work began on converting the current staffroom into a classroom, with the staffroom moving to the workroom. Both rooms are starting to take shape with work expected to continue for the next couple of weeks.
It will be exciting for our school to have all year level classrooms in the Main Building and Early Learning Centre.
I will inform the community once the work is complete.
Paul Litherland
Last night we had a fantastic turn out of parents to our Paul Litherland presentation on Keeping Safe Online. Paul is an experienced and engaging presenter who delivered some important messages for our community.
I would like to thank the P&F for funding this event and helping to keep our community informed.
Paul will be back next year to speak to our Year 5 and 6 students as they navigate this sometimes complex and tricky space.
Feast of the Assumption
Monday 15th August, is the Feast of the Assumption and we will be celebrating as a school by attending the 9am Mass. The Assumption is a Holy Day of Obligation, and it would be great to see a full church on Monday morning.
I thank Mrs Joiner and the Year 4’s for organising this special Mass for our community.
Wellness Week
Next week is Wellness Week for everyone in our community.
Wellness Week is where students and families have a break from homework and instead focus on using that time to play some games, go for a walk, read together or watch a movie. Staff too share in this week by limiting the number of meetings and making sure that they also spend quality time with family and friends.
This term we are expanding Wellness Week to include Mindfulness Sessions, Student Affirmations and a Movie Afternoon with healthy snacks. Students are able to wear their sports uniform for the whole week and we have organised for a Coffee Van to be at school from 7.30am next Friday morning that our parents can utilise during drop off.
I thank our Wellness Committee for organising a great week.
COVID Portal
It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
The information will go directly to me.
If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website -
https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
