What's Happening in and Around Gayman Elementary School?
Haitian Children Thank Gayman Students!
As you know, last year students at Gayman Elementary School raised enough money to build a school for children in Haiti who barely have enough books, let alone iPads. This year, Gayman continues to support Poverty Resolutions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of global poverty and to inspire people to take action. In Haiti, they provide sustainable solutions to poverty, which empower individuals and organizations to meet the needs of their communities.
A recent article was published in the Doyelstown Patch. It includes a short video of the Haitian children thanking the Gayman community.

Cell Phone Use In School Parking Lot
Parents, I would like to bring to your attention a concern I have involving cell phone use during arrival and dismissal. There have been incidents across the country where people have been using their cell phones while driving in school parking lots, resulting in tragic accidents involving children. As you might imagine, children are not always aware of their surroundings. I urge you to be mindful of cell phone use when entering/exiting the school parking lot.
Special Persons' Day
Gayman celebrated Special Persons' Day on Friday, February 15th. Many visitors spent time in the classroom engaging in a Dr. Seuss-related activity and then proceeded to the cafeteria for light refreshments.
The event was a "Seussical Success" and a big thank-you to all grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and other special persons that took time out of their day to visit Gayman!
Shawn Boney, from Trinidad joined Mr. Lechniak's class. Mr. Boney used to play for the Philadelphia Kixx.
Ms. Vass leads a Dr. Seuss trivia game!
