Welcome to the Global Computing Solutions Newsletter

Welcome to the Global Computing Solutions Newsletter. Our aim is to share useful information, resources and good practice across our schools. We will also keep you updated about some exciting projects we're working on to aid the ICT Curriculum.

Please feel free to forward our Newsletter on to your IT Co-Ordinator in school & any other schools in your pyramid or trust.

Class DoJo

We're seeing an increasing number of our schools using Class DoJo & it seems to be a really useful classroom tool.

ClassDojo’s mission is to reinvent classrooms by bringing teachers, students and parents closer together. Teachers use ClassDojo as a communication platform to encourage students, and get parents engaged too. Classrooms become positive places - which means there's no more ‘classroom management’. Just happier classrooms :)

Ohbot

We are very excited to be working with these cool little Ohbots! Using software similar to the Scratch interface, children can bring the robot heads alive. We are hoping to offer after school Coding Clubs as well as a training course for teachers so that you can deliver a simple lesson plan to your students!

If you would be interested in a demonstration please let us know & we will come in and demo them for you!

Telephony System

As you will now know, the current BT Featurenet telephone system is coming to an end. As telephony services now tend to run over the computer network, it makes sense for us to branch out in to this area and we have partnered with Logical Telecoms who are a local company with an established record for great customer service.

If you would like to know more please don’t hesitate to contact us, or you can contact Shaun Noon at Logical direct quoting “Gareth Jones at Global Computing Solutions” on 03448 112224 or at Shaun.Noon@LogicalTelecom.co.uk.
