Welcome Back, Wildcats!
The 2020-21 School Year is Soon Underway!
COVID-19 continues to impact the globe...and those impacts are felt right here at home as we prepare for the start of a new school year.
In accordance with State and Marion County guidelines, the MSDLT Board of Education has created a Re-Entry Plan to inform all parents/families regarding the adjustments and accommodations for the upcoming school year. In addition, MSDLT is offering students and families VIRTUAL SCHOOL ACCESS for the fall 2020 semester. Please open the links and read carefully before making decisions for your child/ren. Parents are asked to make a decision regarding student school attendance (In-person or Virtual) no later than August 14, 2020.
The MSDLT Board of Education adopted a REVISED SCHOOL CALENDAR 2020-21 at the board meeting on Monday, July 20th. The first day of school for students has been moved from Monday, August 3, to THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th.
First Day of School for 2020-2021
THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th is the first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year.
Students opting for VIRTUAL enrollment and those opting for IN-PERSON enrollment will access their GREEN DAY classes on August 13th and their RED DAY classes on August 14th.
Our school leaders are making adjustments daily to respond to the directives from State and Marion County leaders and those adjustments will be reflected, as necessary for the health and safety of our students, educators and staff throughout Lawrence Township. ***OPENING DAY and current plans are subject to change in response to COVID-19 impacts.
Please visit the MSDLT WEBSITE regularly to get up-to-date information from the source, allowing you to be informed to make the best decisions for your student(s) and family.
WELCOME FRESHMEN -- CLASS of 2024
LN Freshman Orientation
On Thursday, July 30th, we will hold a limited freshman orientation due to construction and mandated, limited gatherings. Orientation will take place from 9AM to 4PM. Every student has been allotted one hour to come in and turn in their computer from last year, pick up a new Chromebook, schedule, ID, and some LN procedural information. If you are new to Lawrence Township, you will be able to get an ID picture taken on that day. The schedule and procedures for the day have been added below. Don’t be concerned if you are unable to make it on the 30th, as students will receive what they need during the first days of school. Parents are encouraged to wait for students outside of the building so we do not exceed the maximum number of occupants, however, anyone who enters the building is required to wear a mask.
LN LIMITED OPEN HOUSE TIMES AND PROCEDURES
- Anyone entering the building must wear a mask
- Please adhere to the timeline below based on the student’s last name
- Enter doors 11 or 7 at the back of the school and go directly to the field-house
- Exit through doors 11 or 7
- You will have an hour to complete the following:
- Pick up ID, tentative schedule and LN procedural information
- Exchange Chromebook used in middle school for a new Chromebook
- If you are new to Lawrence Township, you will need to get an ID picture taken prior to getting a Chromebook. Lifetouch will be available to take pictures.
- If time permits, walk the school
Student Schedules
More information will be provided to students and families about REQUESTING SCHEDULE CHANGES as we get closer to August 3rd and have accurate student data available.
