Midland College 15-Week Earth Science Online Course for Teachers
EARTH SCIENCE TEACHER EDUCATION: SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!
The results are in, and the conclusion is dramatic: High school and middle school teachers can greatly improve their ability to understand and teach Earth Science and related Environmental Science concepts through focused, standards-correlated training. That finding is based on a comparison of pre- and post-course assessment results for a group of 20 Earth Science and Environmental Science teachers from west Texas and eastern New Mexico who participated in the 15-week online Earth Science for Teachers professional development course in 2020. In 2022, the course will be offered by the Petroleum Professional Development Center at Midland College as a 15-week online offering, beginning in October of 2022 and ending in March of 2023.
