Measles
We have all been hearing about the measles outbreaks occurring around the country, and the seriousness of this disease. Measles can be spread very easily by people who are sick but do not yet have any symptoms. Measles outbreaks have been identified in New York City, New York State, Michigan, Washington State, New Jersey, and two counties in California. Regarding exposure and transmission of measles, the CDC provides the following information:
"Measles is a highly contagious virus that lives in the nose and throat mucus of an infected person. It can spread to others through coughing and sneezing. Also, measles virus can live for up to two hours in an airspace where the infected person coughed or sneezed. If other people breathe the contaminated air or touch the infected surface, then touch their eyes, noses, or mouths, they can become infected. Measles is so contagious that if one person has it, up to 90% of the people close to that person who are not immune will also become infected. Infected people can spread measles to others from four days before through four days after the rash appears."

PTO Budget Committee is Looking for Volunteers for Next Year!
Are you interested in how the PTO Budget is created? Do you want to be apart of the team that reviews requests and creates the PTO Budget? We need you! The PTO Budget Committee is in need of two to four parents with children attending Rose Glen. The Budget Committee is responsible for determining the Grade/Department Budget for next year. We will meet once in May. Please email Katie Holtzen at RoseGlenPtoBoard@gmail.com if you are interested.
Upcoming Dining Nights - April 23 and May 9th
Our next dining night will be at Culver's (on Sunset Drive) from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, April 23rd. Here's your chance to take the family for a delicious butterburger and some custard and help you school at the same time!
On May 9th, Orange Leaf will host a dining night for Rose Glen from 4 - 9 p.m. Maybe dessert for dinner on this date?? If not, then at the very least go there for dessert...creamy frozen yogurt with your choice of toppings. YUM! What could be better?
Lost and Found
Please take a look at the below items and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items.
You are welcome to come to school and look through the Lost and Found for your child's belongings, so you don't have to rely exclusively on our pictures.
Please contact us asap because all items will be donated on Friday, April 18th, 2019.
