Office for Schools

Diocese of San Diego – April 2015

Welcome!

Dear Principals and Teachers in the Diocese of San Diego,

We are blessed to have so much good news to celebrate during this Easter season! Bishop McElroy, the sixth Bishop of San Diego, was installed; San Diego had a strong presence at NCEA, representing our Diocesan schools; and, many new teachers came to our job fair indicating their interest in Catholic education.

May the joy of the Risen Lord, the power of the Resurrection, and the gift of Eternal Life bring hope to you and your school communities this Easter season.

In Mission,

The Office for Schools Team

St. James ~ Endow Girls

Big image

Transforming the hearts and minds of women and girls by inviting them into the joy, freedom, and dignity that come from living out their gift of authentic femininity in Christ.

St James Academy is pleased to have begun the Endow program with our Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade girls. “Endow is an educational apostolate that writes study guides for small groups of women that makes the rich wisdom of the Church accessible to the “woman in the pew.” By offering background information, definitions of theological terms, historical context, quotes from Scripture and the Catechism, insights from scholars and saints, and thought provoking questions for group discussion, an Endow study makes some of the most profound documents of the Church and writings of her saints accessible to teens and women alike.”

Diocesan Prayer

Lord, Jesus,

through the intercession of our patron saints,

San Diego and Our Lady of Refuge,

we beg you for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit

upon all of us called to be your disciples

and members of your Church.

Bless us to be obedient servants,

as you were obedient

in loving response to the Father’s love,

and to love one another

as you have first loved us.

Bless us with happy marriages and holy families,

with bishops, religious, deacons and priests

to image your presence among us,

and with dedicated lay people,

both married and single,

to be signs of your love in the world.

Help us to embrace

the mission you have entrusted to us,

in lives of fidelity, holiness and compassion.

San Diego, pray for us.

Our Lady of Refuge, pray for us.
