Bright Bytes Survey . . .

Our district has partnered with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization, to learn more about our schools’ technology use for student learning. Our goal is to gather metrics on technology access and skills in our district's technology environment, to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement. This will be done through a comprehensive framework called CASE that looks at the Classroom factors, Access to technology, teacher and student Skills and Environmental factors.

To gain these insights, we must provide BrightBytes with a complete picture of technology use at school and at home within our district. We are asking 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, all staff members, and all parents to participate in the project and to provide input.

The window for the survey opens Monday, February 18, 2019 and closes on Friday, March 8, 2019. Please know that all responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. Bennett 3rd-5th grade students and all staff members will be completing the online survey at school.

Your participation is important to us and will make the difference in our understanding of campus and district technology use.

Our annual PACK Week Program is back this month across the district of McKinney. The PACK (Pack Assorted Colors for Kids) Program encourages eating a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. ARAMARK will be partnering with us to ensure every child benefits from this week. Each day of PACK week has been assigned a different color. We are asking the students to wear the color of the day and bring a fruit/vegetable snack or fruit/vegetable lunch item based on that color. If your child is buying lunch in the cafeteria, fruits and veggies reflecting the color of each day will be offered on the lunch menu.
