A quick update today!
First, the Fund Run! The goal this year was $6500, which is well over what is usually brought in for this fundraiser. This year we raised $10,093.00, WOW!!! Thank you again to everyone who participated and volunteered for the event! Here are the winners of the prizes:
Top fundraising class - Mrs. Monahan
Class with most packets turned in - Mr. McDowall
Class with the most spirit - still being decided
Both of these classes will get a frozen yogurt party hosted by the Pink Spoon in Cornelius. Thank you Pink Spoon!
Top individuals:
3 way tie for boys with 20 laps each: Mica Elmers, Logan Plumley, and Jack Wolfe
3 way tie for girls with 18 laps each: Scarlett Evans, Brooklyn Petrick, and Molly Wolfe
Way to go!
There is an assembly this Monday to give out awards and a slide show will be presented. The assembly starts at 9 and all are welcome! We will also give out the Shining Stars for the month of Sept., and introduce our focus for October which is "Safety"
The new K/1 class begins Monday, Oct. 8. Mrs. Worthington has been introduced to all of her new students and is excited to have all of them in her class on Monday! A parent introduction time will be set up soon, so more on that later this week.
Don't forget the Screenagers showing at Jackson Elementary on Tuesday at 6PM. This is open to our entire Glencoe Feeder, so hopefully we will have a good turnout!
Then Wed. Oct. 10 is the fundraiser at The Old Spaghetti Factory from 4:30 - 9 PM. Should be a fun time!
One upcoming event you likely haven't heard of is our information night regarding the new program at our school, the Social Learning Center. If you are interested in meeting the teacher and learning more about it, please join us on Oct. 18 at 6PM in the library to get more information and have an opportunity to ask questions.
A few more Fund Run photos below:) Enjoy your weekend!
