Dear Wonderful Families,
Luckily for me, Mrs. Clifton and the kindergarteners, we had our snow ball fight yesterday. See picture below.
Don't forget to sign up for the PTO Prom. You won't want to miss it! Register Now!
At 10 am on February 4th, parents of incoming kindergarten students are inviting to our Kindergarten Open House. Meet our three amazing kindergarten teachers, hear about the amazing program at Edgar Road School. Kindergarten registration begins Monday, January 23. Please use the link to get more information.
If you have friends and family who live in WGSD area but don't currently attend WGSD please invite them to the district wide Open House Event on February 4th. We will have parents, PTO members, students and WGSD BOard members on site to celebrate our school.
Mornings are Hard!
I will be the first one to say that mornings are hard. However, we are noticing an increase in tardies and students arriving at 8:05 am.
The teachers at Edgar Road know that every minute matters. They plan each and every minute from the morning meetings that teach social emotional learning, to the morning work which reviews math skills and concepts to the morning centers that include ELA, math and other important activities. They schedule learning beginning at 7:50 am. When one of our students comes in at 8:05 am everyday, it adds up. In one month fifteen minutes a day is almost an entire school day.
We currently give some grace and do not count tardies for the first few minutes after the bell. Starting tomorrow we will start giving tardies at the bell. Hopefully if we tighten up our systems it will encourage all families to get to school on time.
