Infinitive and Infinitive Phrases
To find infinitive or infinitive phrases, look for the word to.
Examples
To play softball is difficult for some people.
I find it easy to play softball.
She gave me tips on how to play softball.
Preposition and Prepositional Phrases
A preposition is a word that relates a noun to pronoun to another word.
A noun or pronoun in the sentence of a preposition is called the object of the preposition.
Prepositional Phrase consists of a preposition, its object, and any words that modify the object.
Examples
The boy slid down the slide.
Preposition is down.
The object is boy.
In the classroom there were desks.
Preposition is in
Preposition phrase is in the classroom.
Examples
During the game the coach got a technical.
Preposition is during
the object is the game
